It's time to start blogging again and to track our cycling activities through 2015. So like many after the Christmas and New Year layoff and the obligatory winter virus we are now back on the fitness trail. So to kick that off we joined up with fellow Tornado rider Steve for a gentle and easy paced ride to Burley in the New Forest for a coffee at the Old Farmhouse Tea Rooms. The tea rooms were fairly quiet today and not as busy as they can get in the summer (see photo). Its always a great place to meet up with other cyclists at the weekend and there is invariably someone you know to chat to.
After a relaxed conversation over coffee, (no cake today as the fitness may have declined but the waistline hasn't!) we head for home. It's fairly chilly outside but unlike recent days the temperature has risen to above freezing!
Once home we have completed 35 miles and although at a fairly easy pace we can both still feel it in our legs! Time to clean the bikes, have a hot bath and relax.
Well that's the first real ride of the year completed and it's apparent that there a few pounds to lose and some miles to be ridden before we will be ready for the better weather in the spring. So continue to watch this space as we struggle for fitness while enjoying the company of other like minded cyclists as we travel the roads and lanes of Dorset , Hampshire and beyond.
